CATSA restates its confidence in GardaWorld to protect passengers’ safety

November 1, 2016

Our partnership with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CASTA) has been well established for over 12 years. Together, we ensure effective and efficient security screening of passengers and their belongings in 28 airports across Canada – a responsibility we take seriously.

On October 18, we joined our long-time partner, CATSA, and proudly announced an extended five-year agreement between our organizations. This agreement is without a doubt a testimony of our client’s confidence in our ability to provide best-in-class security screening services to Canadians and visitors travelling through Canadian airports.

As part of the agreement, GardaWorld will continue to offer its expertise and staffing of highly trained and dedicated security experts to some of the largest airports in the country, including Toronto Pearson International Airport – the busiest Canadian airport with 41 million passengers and 441,000 flights in 2015; Calgary International Airport – which is inaugurating its new $2.6 billion international terminal on October 31, 2016; and Ottawa International Airport – the nation’s capital airport.

The extended five-year agreement valued in excess of $1.4B will be effective as of April 1, 2017 until March 31, 2022. More than 3,500 GardaWorld security screening professionals and administrative staff are currently employed under these contracts.

GardaWorld is also a trusted partner of governments, airport authorities, airlines and private charter companies and a recognized industry leader in port, airport and air transportation security. Our services include pre-board security screening, airport and airfreight security and port security (access control, mobile patrols, cruise passenger screening).
