Malcolm Stokes recently joined Garda Cash Logistics and the Garda cash vault team to spearhead the business strategy for the newly-formed industry’s exclusive Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in the role of Vice President, Strategic Accounts.

“For me, Garda is the perfect fit,” Malcolm explains. “We have a great partnership of professionals who are committed to understanding and anticipating the needs of our FIG clients in a rapidly changing environment.”

Asked what attracted him to Garda after ten years with RBC Capital Markets, Canada’s largest investment bank, most recently as Managing Director of Strategic Transactions Group, Malcolm responds, “When I met Garda Cash Logistics’ leadership team and researched the company, I learned that it is an exciting publicly traded global corporation with a strong brand, great entrepreneurial spirit, and the commitment to be the game-changing leader in North American cash logistics. I am also a Chartered Accountant with banking experience and so I understand the importance to our FIG clients of effective financial controls and prudent risk management practices.”

Malcolm brings with him vast experience working in the financial services industry. Most recently, a Managing Director with Royal Bank of Canada’ investment and corporate banking arm, he structured and executed hundreds of investment and financing transactions for large corporate clients. Prior to that role, Malcolm was the Controller of the RBC Investment Bank. Previously, he held senior positions with the Provinces’ Office of the Treasury and with the Office of the Auditor General. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with Honors from Brock University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
