GardaWorld Prepares for Tropical Storm Arthur

The GardaWorld Crisis Management Team continues to monitor Tropical Storm Arthur, which is nearing hurricane strength. As of 11:00 AM EDT this morning it has a maximum sustained wind of 60 mph. The National Hurricane Center issued a Tropical Storm Warning for coastal and parts of eastern North Carolina including Wilmington. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for eastern NC, including most of the Outer Banks.

Further strengthening to a Category I hurricane is likely as Arthur moves north. With its current forecast track, Arthur should make landfall sometime late Thursday into Friday with possible wind gusts up to 90 mph.
