GardaWorld’s Gaston Allicie receives Honorary Colonel nomination from Canadian Armed Forces

April 11, 2018

On April 3, 2018, veteran of the Canadian Forces and member of the GardaWorld team, Gaston Allicie was appointed Honorary Colonel of the Canadian Armed Forces, after previously being appointed Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in 2012.

This honorary nomination offers Mr. Allicie a mentorship role with a mission to preserve customs and traditions and act as a spokesperson, establishing important links between the community and the Canadian Forces.

“I have a strong attachment to the military. In my family, we were three brothers to enlist in the Forces. Our father, a World War II veteran, encouraged us to serve our country. Thanks to my military experience and training, I have a true understanding of the benefits of hiring a veteran or reservist, and I try to recruit more military to join the GardaWorld team,” says Mr. Allicie.

Gaston Allicie serves as a GardaWorld ambassador in Quebec City. In charge of business development, lending his voice, expertise and his network, Mr. Allicie recognizes that profitable partnerships can be established by highlighting the benefits for employers to hire reservists and veterans. “From the beginning, GardaWorld has been a huge supporter of military and reservists—more so than any other security company I know—we’re always on the lookout to hire reservists and veterans because we know their value. Our president, Mr. Crétier, has always had a close relationship with the military,” he shares.

With more than 35 years of collaboration with the Canadian Forces, Mr. Allicie remains profoundly involved with the military community, “I've never removed the uniform. I organized many events to unite the different business communities with members of the Regiment, especially our veterans.”

In addition to his role as Senior Advisor at GardaWorld, Gaston Allicie is also Vice President of the International Police Association.
