Security Guards conduct successful evacuation due to violent storm

September 5, 2018

A violent storm broke out on August 30 when Radio-Canada was hosting its outdoor Back-to-School festivities under tents in Montreal. The fierce winds resulted in some of the tents’ metal structures bending and breaking.

That’s when GardaWorld security guards, Bianca Fillion and Joanie Houle, jumped into action. There was no hesitation on their part as the guards scurried in the downpour to ensure a safe and timely evacuation of the individuals taking shelter under the tents.

“I would like to highlight the exemplary work of the team in place, which made it possible to quickly get people to safety, secure the premises by setting up a security perimeter, and control access. I particularly want to acknowledge Bianca and Joanie for their leadership and full involvement in the intervention. Their swift intervention likely prevented many injuries,” shares Liane Gagnon, Special Projects & Security Manager, Maison Radio-Canada.
