St John’s GardaWorld team brings holiday cheer to children in need

Operation Christmas Child is an initiative that delivers shoeboxes filled with small toys and essentials to children in need for the holidays. These items can seem trivial, but they mean so much to those with so little. Since 1993, the non-profit has delivered over 157 million gift boxes to children in 160 countries.

James Colbourne, GardaWorld Security Supervisor at the Village Mall Shopping Centre, and his colleagues were eager to get involved in a cause to give back during the holiday season. When they discovered Operation Christmas Child, everyone was onboard to participate in this meaningful cause for underprivileged youth.

With support and donations from individuals, the security team, and Village Mall shops and staff, James and his team packed and delivered 54 shoeboxes for the children.

James shares his passion for the project

“It’s important to me as a leader to set an example and do something good for those in need. GardaWorld is about helping people—protecting them, their property and assets. We walk side by side with the elderly, the disabled, the poor, and those from war-torn societies. They look up to us, and we can show how we help make a difference both here and overseas.”

GardaWorld’s commitment to corporate social responsibility

Whether we’re supporting people locally or abroad, corporate social responsibility is part of our core mission.
