The Argentine National Meteorological Service issued an alert for the city of Buenos Aires and nearby areas at 05:00 (local time) on Wednesday, April 11. The alert warns of “strong” or “severe” storms (including violent winds and hail) for the city, as well as parts of the province Entre Ríos and the Río de la Plata area. The storm is expected to continue throughout the day, with improved conditions expected early Thursday.
Individuals present in affected areas are advised to follow weather reports and adhere to any orders issued by the local authorities. In the event of flooding, remember that driving or walking through running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
