Storms and heavy rains hit the capital Bangkok in recent hours, causing flooding and related damage in some areas. Flooding was reported on the morning of April 17 in the outskirts of Bangkok, including the Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani and the Bang Bua Thong district of Nonthburi. The situation is reportedly more serious in the north of the country.


According to the latest warning issued by the Meteorological Department on April 17, rain and wind will persist in the capital and some other 30 provinces - mainly in the northern, northeastern, and eastern regions - at least until Wednesday, April 18.


Individuals present in Thailand should anticipate associated transportation disruptions, keep abreast of weather forecasts, and adhere to any instructions issued by local authorities.
