Cuban state-run media reported on Friday, May 18, that a Boeing 737 airplane crashed shortly after taking off from José Martí International Airport (HAV). The plane crashed at approximately 12:40 (local time). According to local reports, firefighters have deployed to the airport to extinguish a fire on the runway. No casualties have been confirmed as of 13:21. Flight disruptions are possible in the coming hours. Further details are still emerging.
