Strikes by employees of the Greater Anglia railway company set to take place on June 16 and June 23 have been called off. As such, normal rail operations are to be expected on these days. The Greater Anglia network runs throughout eastern England, including the London region.
Two other rail strikes are still set to take place in the coming days in the UK. Workers at Northern Rail will be on strike June 19 and June 21. Workers at South Western Railway (SWR) will strike June 21-23. Reduced services along with overcrowding on available trains are to be anticipated during these periods.
Travelers are advised to plan alternate routes and allow for extra time to reach their destinations on strike days.
