Canada: Large labor rally planned in Toronto June 16

The Fight for $15 & Fairness and the Ontario Federation of Labor is planning on holding a rally in Toronto on Saturday, June 16. According to local sources, the rally will begin at 13:00 (local time) outside of the Ministry of Labor, and will be followed by a march to Queen's Park. The march is expected to run until 16:00. Traffic disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the rally and march.


Ontario's Progressive Conservative Party won a majority government in Ontario's general election held on June 7. The rally is intended to communicate the broad support in Ontario for a CAD 15 minimum wage and stronger labor laws.
