Unions representing Swiss air traffic controllers have called off a strike scheduled to take place from July 23 to July 27. According to local sources, the strike was called off to allow for negotiations with government officials. The strike was initially set to take place at Geneva Airport (GVA), Bern Airport (BRN), Lugano Airport (LUG), Sion Airport (SIR), Grenchen/Granges Airport (ZHI), and Emmen Airport (EML). Strikes by air traffic controllers at the aforementioned airports are possible in the coming weeks should negotiations break down.
Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and contact their airline for more information.
