Unions representing airport workers from multiple sectors - including security and airfield operations staff - at Aberdeen International Airport (ABZ) have called for a series of 24-hour strikes to take place on Friday, July 20, Thursday, August 2, and Thursday, August 16. According to airport officials, some 170 workers are expected to participate in the strike. As of mid-July, it is not clear to what extent the strike will impact airport operations; nevertheless, if the work stoppage goes ahead as planned, flight delays are possible.
Individuals flying to or from ABZ on the abovementioned dates advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and be prepared for possible disruptions.
