Feminist groups will hold marches in cities nationwide, including in Santiago, Valparaíso, Temuco, and Antofagasta, on Wednesday, July 25, to call for free and legal abortions. In the capital Santiago, demonstrators will march from Plaza Baquedano (Plaza Italia) to Plaza de Los Héroes; in Valparaíso from Plaza Victoria to Congreso Nacional; in Temuco from Plaza Dagoberto Godoy (Plaza del Hospital) to Iglesia Catedral de Temuco; and in Antofagasta, protesters will be stationed at the intersection of Prat and Matta streets. All demonstrations will begin at 18:00 (local time). A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected near demonstration sites.
