Service disruptions on the Buenos Aires metro (subte) system are possible in the coming days and weeks as workers resume protests to demand pay raises among high rates of inflation. Such a protest is set to take place on Monday, July 23; services along the line B will cease at 21:00 (local time) and turnstiles in stations along the line will be opened from 19:00 on, allowing passengers to enter without paying. Similar actions are likely on other lines in the coming days.
Increased demand for buses and taxis is to be anticipated during any metro strikes.
Related protests and strikes were held in March and April, as well as on July 19.
Individuals in Buenos Aires are advised to keep abreast of the situation and avoid any associated street protests as a precaution.
