The vehicle ramming that occurred on Tuesday, August 14, is being treated as a possible terrorist attack. A man drove his vehicle into the barriers outside of the Houses of Parliament in London at 07:37 (local time), injuring two people. The driver was arrested shortly after at the scene by the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of terrorist offenses.
Access to the Westminster tube station has been closed, nearby streets cordoned off, and a number of buses diverted.
London’s Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command is in charge of the ongoing investigation.
Individuals in London are advised to continue to avoid the area and obey any instructions issued by the local authorities.
