Windhoek will host the 38th South African Development Community (SADC) Summit from Friday, August 19, through Sunday, August 19. High-profile delegations from the 16 member states are expected to attend the event, which will be held at the Safari Court Hotel. Heightened security measures and disruptions (including road closures) are anticipated around the event and at Eros Airport (ERS).


Individuals in Windhoek are advised to anticipate heightened security throughout the city in the coming days, and during the August 17-19 summit, to allow for additional travel time, and to confirm travel reservations.
