All flights to and from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) were temporarily suspended on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 15 (local time), due to an air traffic control communications system issue. As of 14:04, a "limited" number of incoming flights had been able to land at the airport, according to AMS officials, and the communications system problem was resolved and flight operations were restarting by 14:23. Significant flight delays and cancelations are nonetheless expected at AMS in the coming hours.
