Agriculture-sector unions have threatened to paralyze the country to denounce a bill being debated in the National Assembly that would increase taxes. The unions have stated they will begin to protest in front of the National Assembly building in the capital San José on Monday, August 19, progressively increasing the intensity of their protest movement until the government responds.
