The Third Mainland Bridge that links mainland Lagos to Lagos Island will close for maintenance assessments from 00:00 (local time) Friday, August 24, through Sunday, August 26. The 11.8 km (7.3 mi) bridge will undergo inspections to determine future repairs and maintenance. Alternate routes (Eko Bridge; Carter Bridge) will likely experience heavier traffic. Heightened traffic control and security presence is expected in the area.


Individuals in and traveling to Lagos should expect transportation delays on the alternate routes and feeding arterial roads and allow additional time to travel.
