Several strikes with the potential to affect air travel are set to take place on Monday, September 10. Ground staff at Rome’s Fiumicino (FCO) and Ciampino (CIA) international airports will be on strike from noon until 16:00 (local time). Air traffic controllers will be on strike at Alghero-Fertilia International Airport (AHO) from 10:00 to 18:00. Finally, cabin crew staff at Air Italy will be on strike throughout the day.
Transportation-related strikes are frequent in Italy and can be highly disruptive. However, in accordance with Italian law, minimum levels of services must be guaranteed during all industrial and social actions.
Potentially affected travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport.
