The epicenter was located in Peru in a remote area of Alto Purús National Park. The quake struck shortly after 04:00 (Peruvian time). It is currently unclear if the shaking has resulted in any damages or casualties. According to one analyst, significant damage is unlikely to the significant depth of the earthquake: 625 km (390 mi).
