Local news sources reported a hotel fire occurred in the northeastern city of Harbin (Heilongjiang province) during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 25. As of 11:45 (local time) at least 18 people were reportedly killed in the blaze and rescue efforts are ongoing. Emergency officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.


Individuals in Harbin are advised to avoid the area of the incident and obey all instructions issued by the local authorities.
