At approximately 11:30 (local time) on Saturday, August 25, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device during a demonstration in front of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) in Jalalabad. Reports indicate that at least seven people were killed in the attack, with several more suffering injuries. Further attacks targeting political events are possible in Jalalabad in the coming weeks.
