Civil society groups have called for a demonstration to take place in Cape Town on Wednesday, August 29, to denounce increasing incidents of gang-related violence. According to local sources, demonstrators will gather on Wednesday in Bonteheuwel. Protesters have announced they intend to erect roadblocks on major highways. Transportations disruptions are anticipated along Settlers Way near Cape Town International Airport (CPT). A heightened security presence is expected in the vicinity of any demonstrations.
