Airport workers represented by De Unie trade union called off a strike of Amsterdam-Schiphol International Airport (AMS) previously scheduled for Tuesday, September 4. According to De Unie, the union and security companies reached an agreement on the evening (local time) of Tuesday, August 28. Around 200,000 travelers may have been affected by the strike.
Several brief strikes were held by security staff starting in late July, though no associated flight disruptions were reported. The union and the company were negotiating workloads, hours, and wage increases.
Travelers through AMS are advised to monitor the situation.
