Weather authorities lifted heavy rain warnings for the capital city and Gyeonggi on Thursday, 30 August, after the previous two days saw heavy rainfall in the northern districts of Seoul and Gyeonggi (north of Seoul) which is believed to have cost two people their lives. Seoul should receive moderate rainfalls (3 to 8 cm - 1 to 3 in) over the rest of the week.
On August 29, up to 25 cm (10 in) of rain pounded the northern districts of Seoul, while Goyang in Gyeonggi Province (north of Seoul) received over 50 cm (20 in) of water from August 28 to August 29.
Individuals present in Seoul are advised to monitor the situation, to anticipate localized flooding and associated road hazards, and to adhere to any instructions issued by local authorities.
