Senegal's local elections will be held throughout the country on December 1, 2019, to elect mayors and local assemblies. Initially scheduled to take place on June 23, 2019, it has been postponed for six months. Political gatherings are likely to take place in the weeks leading up to the vote. An increased security presence is expected in the vicinity of all election events.


The next presidential elections will be held on February 24, 2019.


Individuals in Senegal are advised to avoid all rallies and demonstrations, to prepare for associated traffic disruptions, and to adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
