Several labor groups are holding a joint protest in New Delhi on Wednesday, September 5. The All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU, All India Kisan Sabha, and Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) announced their members will participate in the "Mazdoor Kisan Sangharsh Rally" from Ram Leela Maidan to the Indian Parliament building in New Delhi. Reliable estimates on the size are not available, though at least 15,000 people from Maharashtra are expected to arrive via train. The rally is meant to criticize President Narenda Modi's economic policies and to demand a higher minimum wage and debt waivers for peasants and farmworkers.
