The nationwide strike launched by air traffic controllers in Ethiopia on August 27 ended on Wednesday, September 5. According to media reports, most of the striking workers returned to work at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD) and other domestic airports following talks with the civil aviation authority (ECAA). Authorities reportedly arrested nine union leaders on Tuesday, September 4, for continuing the strike after the ECAA declared it to be illegal. As of Monday, September 10, it is unclear if the workers have been released.

Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport.
