A bomb threat was reported on Rivonia Road, located in the Sandton district of Johannesburg, on Tuesday, September 11, prompting authorities to lock down the area and close roads. Affected roads include West Street between Rivonia Road and Katherine Street, and Rivonia Road between West and Fifth Street. The situation was initially reported around noon (local time). As of 15:00, roads reportedly remain closed around the Rivonia Road and West Street. South Africa Police Service are currently doing a sweep of the two towers at 102 Rivonia Road where the alert was issued. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are expected in the coming hours.
