Metro workers are expected to hold partial strikes in Barcelona from Friday, September 21, through Monday, September 24. The stoppages will affect individuals attending the Mercè city-wide street festival, taking place September 21-24. The strike schedule is the following (all times local): Friday 07:00-09:00, 19:00-21:00, and 20:30-22:30; Saturday and Sunday 11:00-13:00, 19:00-21:00, and 20:30-22:30; Monday 10:19-12:19, 17:44-19:44, and 22:50-00:50. Reduced or suspended services are possible during these periods, as well as increased demand for alternate means of transportation (bus, taxis, etc.).

Context

Unions are denouncing organizational decisions taken by transport operator TMB, which are considered a breach of a prior agreement with metro workers.
