TIMEFRAME expected from 9/12/2018, 12:00 AM until 9/12/2018, 11:59 PM (UTC). COUNTRY/REGION Jakarta

On Wednesday, September 12, drivers affiliated with the Attack Deceitful App Companies Movement (Gerhana) rallied outside the Go-Jek headquarters in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, to demand better working conditions. Hundreds of police officers were deployed to secure the rally and maintain order.

The Gerhana union staged a similar peaceful protest in front of the Grab headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on September 10.

On a separate note, individuals traveling to Indonesia should be aware that driving habits are generally poor in this developing Southeast Asian country. Foreign nationals involved in traffic violations or accidents risk deportation. Several multinational companies established in Indonesia prohibit their expatriate staff from driving in the country.
