A gunman has reportedly locked himself in the Capitec Bank on Voortrekker Road in Bellville (Cape Town) on the afternoon (local time) of Wednesday, September 19. Bank employees and clients have evacuated the building and police are at the scene of the incident; police have clarified there are no hostages currently being held. No casualties have been reported. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected in the surrounding area until the situation normalizes.
