TIMEFRAME expected from 9/19/2018, 12:00 AM until 9/26/2018, 11:59 PM (Asia/Karachi). COUNTRY/REGION Balochistan

On Tuesday, September 18, Pakistani authorities announced that a major terror plot was foiled in Balochistan province. According to a military spokesperson, security forces raided a militant operating base in Kohlu, seizing large quantities of weapons, explosives, and ammunition. A heightened security presence is expected in the area in the coming days. Attacks by militant groups remain possible in the near-term.

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Al-Qai'da, Islamic State (IS) affiliates, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, Afghan Taliban, and other Islamist militant groups continue to pose a threat throughout the country despite continued army offensives to push them from their northwestern strongholds near the Afghan border. Pakistan has suffered several deadly attacks in recent months, notably in Lahore, Balochistan province, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Individuals present in Pakistan are advised to be vigilant at all times, keep a low profile, and avoid crowds, public places, and public gatherings (often targeted in terrorist attacks). Adhere to any instructions issued by local security forces.
