Heightened congestion on roads, in train stations, and in airports, as well as increased demand for hotels and other accommodations, has been reported in South Korea in recent days amid the Chuseok holiday, which will be observed through Wednesday, September 26. Continuing transportation and service disruptions are to be expected nationwide through Wednesday.

Chuseok is an annual holiday held around the autumnal equinox centered on celebrating the harvest season and remembering ancestors. Celebrations often include family members sharing a meal together in their hometowns and visiting the graves of their ancestors.

Individuals in South Korea are advised to prepare for associated transportation and service disruptions and seek alternative travel arrangements, if necessary.
