Air Italy staff based out of Sardinia’s Olbia International Airport (OLB) will hold a 24-hour strike on Monday, October 1. As such, flight and operational disruptions are likely at OLB. Knock-on flight disruptions are also possible throughout the Air Italy network.
As a reminder, several other aviation-sector strikes are set to take place on Friday, September 28. Ground staff at Milan’s Linate (LIN) and Malpensa (MXP) international airports will be on strike throughout the 24-hour period. Staff at Bologna-Marconi Airport (BLQ) will be on strike from 10:00 to 14:00 (local time). Pilots and cabin crew staff at Blue Panorama Airlines will strike throughout the day, as will Italy-based employees of Ryanair; Ryanair employees in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal are also set to strike on September 28.
Transportation-related strikes are frequent in Italy and can be highly disruptive. However, in accordance with Italian law, minimum levels of services must be guaranteed during all industrial and social actions.
Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport.
