More than 240 types of drugs are currently unavailable in Algerian pharmacies, according to a statement by the president of the National Council of the Order of Pharmacists made on September 18. Shortages are reportedly being caused by delays in signing importation agreements and insufficient amounts of imported drugs. The Ministry of Health has been called to act on the situation and establish a more efficient system to avoid shortages.


Individuals traveling to Algeria are advised to bring along any medications they may need during their stays, along with the associated prescriptions if relevant.
