TIMEFRAME expected from 10/1/2018, 12:00 AM until 10/4/2018, 11:59 PM (Europe/Berlin). COUNTRY/REGION Saxony, Bavaria state (Germany)

Local authorities arrested six men suspected of forming a far-right terrorist group called "Revolution Chemnitz" on Monday, October 1, in the states of Saxony and Bavaria. The individuals reportedly assaulted foreigners during recent demonstrations in Chemnitz (Saxony) and were planning another attack on migrants on October 3. Further details will emerge as the investigation moves forward.

Far-right groups have been holding demonstrations in several cities in Germany since August following allegations of migrants attacking German citizens. Violent protests have taken place in Chemnitz since late August after a German man was fatally stabbed on August 26 and two Iraqi and Syrian men were subsequently arrested for his death. The Iraqi man was reportedly released on September 18 after a court hearing. According to the man's lawyer, the prosecutors were unable to present any evidence linking him to the stabbing.

Individuals in Chemnitz are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
