Officials issue orange alert for heavy rain in northern provinces on October 2

An orange alert (the second highest level) for heavy rain was issued for 17 provinces in northern Algeria on Tuesday, October 2. The alerts are in effect for Algiers, Blida, Medea, Boumerdes, Bouira, Tizi-Ouzou, Bejaia, Bordj -bou-Arreridj, Setif, Jijel, Mila, Skikda, Constantine, Annaba, Guelma, Souk-Ahras, and El-Tarf. According to weather reports, heavy rains are expected in the abovementioned areas through Thursday, October 4. Localized flooding and associated transportation disruptions are possible. 


Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
