A train collision occurred at the Van Riebeeck station, located in Kempton Park (Gauteng province), around 17:50 (local time) on Thursday, October 4, injuring 320 people. A train that crashed into the rear of a stationary train was traveling from Johannesburg to Pretoria. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.

Individuals in Gauteng province are advised to confirm the status of their trains and allow for longer travel times.
