Tropical Cyclone Titli is set to move toward Bangladesh, bringing heavy rain and possible flooding from Wednesday, October 10, to Saturday, October 14. Titli is expected to make landfall in Odisha (India), before curving northeast over Kolkata and into Bangladesh. As of 00:00 (local time) on Wednesday, the storm was producing sustained winds of 93 km/h (58 mph) and expected to strengthen to 130 km/h (81 mph) before landfall, or a "Very Strong Cyclonic Storm," the third-highest rating. Rain up to 20 cm (8 in) is expected across east India and Bangladesh, including Dhaka, Khulna, and Chittagong. Flooding and transportation disruptions are possible.

Tropical cyclones are common in the Bay of Bengal from May through December.
