Tens of thousands of people will gather in the eastern city of Iasi on Thursday, October 11, to Monday, October 15, for the pilgrimage dedicated to Saint Parascheva. A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are expected; local authorities have announced the closure of several streets within the city as well as the deployment of hundreds of police officers. Increased means of transportation (bus, trains) will be running between the capital Bucharest and Iasi.
