The LGBT pride parade set to take place in Lublin on Saturday, October 13, has been banned, along with associated counter protests. Local authorities expressed security concerns, fearing unrest and a shortfall in police resources. Attempts to gather on the day in defiance of the ban remain possible.

The march had initially been scheduled to depart from Krola Wladyslawa Square at 13:00 (local time).

Gatherings escalated into violence during the pride parade held in Wroclaw (Lower Silesian province) on October 6, when masked men attacked participants, leaving one injured.

Individuals in Lublin are advised to avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to any instructions issued by the local authorities.
