The Malaysian Trade Union Congress (MTUC) is planning a protest march in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, October 17. Localized transportation disruptions are possible, along with a heightened security presence in the area.

Malaysia committed to raise its national monthly minimum wage to RM1050 beginning January 1. MTUC states the increase is not sufficient and is demanding a wage of RM1800.
