Authorities indicated they apprehended the suspected hostage taker and freed the hostage, who sustained light injuries. Police reportedly stormed the station's pharmacy, where shots were heard, and "seriously injured" the suspect.
Deutsche Bahn, the national rail operator, has suspended all traffic in and out of the station until further notice.
