On Saturday, October 20, Tanzanian security officials announced that 104 suspected Islamist militants had been arrested during multiple security operations over the course of the past few weeks. According to local sources, the suspected militants had attempted to establish training camps in neighboring Mozambique. The Ahlu Sunnah Wa-Jamo/Ansar Al-Sunna (Shabaab) Islamist group has been blamed for carrying out sporadic attacks against local businesses, government installations, and security forces members in northern Mozambique.
