Drivers of the ridesharing services Uber and Ola continued an indefinite strike in Mumbai on Sunday, October 28. According to local sources, the strike was launched on Sunday, October 21 to demand an increase in fares from Rs 6 (USD 0.08) to Rs 18 (USD 0.25) per kilometer. A demonstration by ridesharing drivers is expected to take place on Monday, October 29 in front of Mantralaya, the headquarters of the Maharashtra state government.
Individuals in Mumbai are advised to avoid all demonstrations and to anticipate potential transportation disruptions.
