A rally for "democracy, peace, freedom, and human rights" is set to take place in Munich on Monday, November 5, following the election of members of the far-right AfD party to the Bavarian Landtag (parliament). Participants will gather at 19:00 (local time) at the Maximilian Bridge, located near the Landtag. Counter-protests are possible, along with clashes between rival protesters or with police. Localized transportation disruptions are expected. Further associated protests are possible in the coming days and weeks.
The AfD won around 11 percent of the votes in the Bavarian state elections, which took place on October 14, allowing them to enter the Landtag for the first time.
Individuals in Germany are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution.
