Unions representing workers at the Lisbon metro (metropolitano) have called off a strike initially set to be held on Tuesday, November 6, and Thursday, November 8. According to local sources, the strike was canceled following negotiations between union representatives and transportation officials. Further strikes by metro workers are nevertheless possible in the near term should negotiations break down.
